LLC "Poti Transport Company" is a legal entity founded by the Municipality of the City of Poti, whose principal activity is organizing public transport services for the population in accordance with the intra-city routes approved by the municipality.

The company was founded on 28 September 2020.

At the initial stage the company employed 11 people and operated 5 technically outdated municipal buses.

From March 2021, following the completion of the new administrative building and bus depot, the company received additional new municipal buses under the programme of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia; the enterprise's structure was reorganized and newly established, and the number of employees increased.

A card-based fare payment system was introduced at the company. The electronic system for monitoring bus movement was also refined, which made it possible to significantly improve the quality of passenger service.

Today the company operates 12 new buses of European standard and 2 technically outdated municipal buses. The company employs up to 80 people, including 11 women.

To ensure full-service, safe and comfortable transportation of passengers, the company maintains operational, technical and inspection departments.

The operational department handles the assignment of buses to routes, the drawing up of timetables, dispatching and monitoring. The technical department ensures the technical soundness of the vehicles. The inspection department oversees fare payment and monitors the passenger transport process.

To better inform the public about municipal transport routes, the company has installed information signs at the bus stops.

The company employs experienced, professional drivers who undergo a standard medical examination and breathalyzer test before setting out on a route.

All buses are washed and their interiors cleaned daily. The vehicles are disinfected periodically.

On the basis of the relevant plans developed by the company, the appropriate personnel are given briefings on occupational safety and environmental matters.

By resolution of the Poti City Assembly, within the framework of the social welfare programme and in order to provide affordable transport services to the city's socially vulnerable population, LLC "Poti Transport Company" is subsidized by the City Hall of the Municipality of Poti.

The bus fare is set by the municipality at 50 tetri.
